Installation Process

Before running the Webcam for Remote Desktop Workstation setup program ensure that you are logged in as a user with administrative privileges.

Hardware: Web-camera, LAN or Internet connection
Known OS Limitations:
  • Windows 11 Update 24H2 is not supported currently.
  • Sound redirection is not supported if the Server side is installed on Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • Some apps may not have access to the camera on Windows OS.
  • Camera applications built with Windows Camera Frame Server in mind are not currently supported (support will be added soon).
  • Also, certain Windows update may lead to improper webcam operation. Learn how to fix these issues.

To install Webcam for Remote Desktop Workstation, do the following:

1. Download program installation package corresponding to your architecture. For example 64bit. The latest program version is available at www.webcam-for-remote-desktop.com.

2. Run the webcam-for-remote-desktop-workstation-64bit.msi file and follow the installation wizard.
