2 May 2025Printer for Remote Desktop 2.1 is out! In this major release, the program core has been rewritten from scratch. For each local hardware printer, a separate virtual printer is now created in the remote session, instead of a single one.
Support for Zebra Programming Language (ZPL) and Sato Barcode Printer Language (SBPL) has been added. Licensing settings have been added to GPO templates.
For correct program operation, please upgrade both, Server and Workstation.

Latest macOS Sonoma is now supported by all products. USB over Network GUI now allows to connect and manage some remote devices, shared on another computers (so-called Servers). Sound quality was improved in the Sound for Remote Desktop. Other minor changes and optimizations were made in all products.

The main feature of this release is support for Amazon NICE DCV protocol. With earlier support for Microsoft RDP, Citrix ICA and Teradici PCoIP protocols, FabulaTech products become the most flexible solution for connecting device to cloud, virtual desktop instance or remote session.
A lot of minor improvements and bugfixes were made in the products as well.

A lot of device-specific improvements have been implemented in Windows version of the program. Data caching for audio devices has been fine-tuned for smooth playback over poor network connection. Improvements in session isolation of webcams and printers, speed of mass storage devices and compatibility with android devices have been made. Minor bugs have been fixed as well.
Issue causing some applications to crash occasionally has been fixed in macOS version.

Release for Linux brings support for hardware bufferization in Fujitsu scanners. Support for eSCL scanners has been improved as well. And a lot of minor issues with paper dimensions, centering and detection on some backends have been fixed.

Windows version comes with a tons of new features such as easy understandable symlinks for Clients, Servers and devices, autoconnect of all devices on callback connection, ability to continue local usage of the device which was shared but not yet connected by Client, and to disconnect a device from Client without unsharing. New FabulaTech Virtual USB Host Controller driver brings full support for USB 3.0 and great performance improvement under the latest Windows OS. Also, UI was enhanced and polished, performance and quality tweaks are added for HID devices, fine-tuning of interval for broken connection detection is added. A lot of bugs fixed as well.

New features have been added: the possibility to use SSL in callback connections, devices can be connected by its VID/PID using the command-line utility. Sharing Rule Manager has been improved also: now it is possible to assign a nickname to a device and change its serial number.
Overall stability and performance have been improved for high load situations with extremely large number of Servers or Clients or devices. Compatibility with some USB devices has been enhanced as well.
