PocketPC emulation

ActiveSync doesn't recognise PocketPC emulator connected through a virtual serial port pair. Has it been fixed in 4.6? Or is it some kind of technical limitation?

ActiveSync with Pocket PC problem has been fixed in the new Virtual Serial Port Kit version. Moreover new 4.7 version allows to create different null modems with loop back, partial or full handshaking now.

when connecting to pocket pc emulator 2003, activesync 3.8/3.1/3.0 via a null modem cable I get  error: DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED.

The connectivity couldnot be established and the partnership dialog does not pop up.

However when I try the same thing with "Virtual Serial Port Kit v4.8" connectivity is established, also the partnership dialog pop up.

There is no problem with serial cable. I have tested communication at the 2 com ports using the same cable. Data entered at one port (using hyperterminal) is displayed at the other end.

I cannot make out why I am facing problem when I use serial cable. Is this the problem with serial cable or any of the settings are required?

Please help me if u can..

Thanking u,
Emama

Yes, it's problem with your serial cable. Probably you have to use null modem cable with full handshaking pinout scheme.

Please refer to this description of different pinout schemes:
