USB for Remote Desktop Breaks Integration Services

When installing the latest USB for remote desktop onto our windows 8.1 machine (VDI environment) we notice that it completely breaks the integration services. Is there a fix or a work around for this? Does anyone else notice integration services breaking?

Hi
I would advise you to do the following on your Hyper-V guest OS (Win8.1):
- create the svchost.reg file via NotePad:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ftsjail]
"ExcludeProcesses"=hex(7):2a,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,\
  00,32,00,5c,00,73,00,76,00,63,00,68,00,6f,00,73,00,74,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,\
  65,00,00,00,00,00
- apply it there;
- reboot your USB for Remote Desktop (server) PC;
- try to reproduce the issue one more time.
You can add the file name of the Integration Services to the list of "ExcludeProcesses".
Please send me your test results after that.

I am very confused on this reply, so I go into regedit and add this key? What kind of key is it? String, Binary, Dword,Qword, Multi-String, Expandable?

Created the Red file like you said. Also we are now trying on Windows 7 instead.

Cannot Import C:\Apps\exlude.reg   The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

Hi!
As I wrote earlier you can:
- create the svchost.reg file using Notepad;
- execute it using Registry Editor.

If you want to create this key manually in Registry Editor, ok:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ftsjail
Value type: Multi-String Value
Value name: ExcludeProcesses
Value data: *\system32\svchost.exe

You are doing something wrong.
Try this:
1) create svchost.txt with help of Notepad;
2) paste the following text:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ftsjail]
"ExcludeProcesses"=hex(7):2a,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,0 0,33,\
  00,32,00,5c,00,73,00,76,00,63,00,68,00,6f,00,73,00,74,00,2e,00,65,00,78, 00,\
  65,00,00,00,00,00
3) save the file and change the extension to .reg;
4) right click on svchost.reg - Open with - Registry Editor - Yes - Yes - Ok.

Thank you. We got it working now, the registry entry worked great! Now our VDI works properly again with USB for RDP. Thanks!
