Windows 8.1 Support

I just installed the workstation part of USB for Remote Desktop on a Windows 8.1 PC.

Unfortunately there is no tray Icon, so i cannot use the software.

I tried a reboot - without success.

Connecting to a server which is running properly with USB redirects from Windows 7 Clients i also get no USB devices shown.

Checking the services the software is started and available.

MSI used: USB for Remote Desktop 5.0 64Bit
Revision number: {370E39F1-5634-42EB-B8DD-FC6F13945876}

Any idea how to proceed?

Best Regards

Joe

Dear customer,
There is no tray icon on the Server side, as the application works in a silent mode.
Check Device Manager on the Server side to make sure that your devices have been redirected.

Is Windows 8.1 supported by version 5.0.2?

I installed Workstation on my Home system, where my USB Headset is plugged into.
I then installed Server on my Work VM.
Rebooted both machines.
But nothing is getting redirected to my Work VM.
The icon on the Work VM only states "Running in local session", there is nothing to select.

Hello, I have a thinserver environment and would like access to the "USB for Remote Desktop" beta of 5.1 as I am running Windows 8.1, and get "local access only" message (windows being the location that devices are redirected to and ubuntu being the location where the devices actually are. I believe this is the problem if not can you please advise otherwise. Thanks!

Dear customer,
Please specify the following:
- If your workstation runs Linux;
- what version of server have you installed;
- we also need to see a log file from the server side (Win 8.1, log level 4).

Please check your email box for instruction.
