Few questions...

1. What do i use for ip? Is it the remote computers IP?
2. If not the remote computers IP then what is it and where do I find?

I am at a lost and need some help please.....

Hello!

Do you mean the "IP" field in the Graphic shell of "USB over Network(client)"? You need to specify the IP-address of the server or its domain/host name there.

Yes that's what I mean. But when I put in IP of that computer it says unacessible or something to that nature.

I am at a loss... Can you tell me how to get the information from the server computer thats needed in that field?

I suppose you meant "unreachable". This error means that "client" can`t find the "server". Usually it happens because the entered IP address is incorrect.

To get your IP:

1. Click "Start" --> Run --> type "cmd" and press "Enter";
2. A command line shell will be opened. In a new window type "ipconfig" and press enter. This command will show you the settings of you network card. You will find internal IP of your computer there.

If your computers are located in different network I can recommend you to use 3rd party software to configure the virtual private network between computers. For example Hamachi from LogMeIn. All you need is to install it on your computers and launch it. Every Hamachi instance has its own unique IP. Use it to connect "USB over Network(client)" to the "Server".

But note that 3rd party software will reduce the speed of data transfer. You can configure port forwarding but usually it is rather complicated task. For detailed information take a look at this link:

Hello everyone!

Let me describe some my negative experience with pair "USB over Network Server" + "USB over Network Client".

There is next platform configuration:
1. Host OS Windows 8 64-bit
2. Virtual OS Windows 7 32-bit had been created by Hyper-V Manager
3. USB over Network Server is installed on the host
4. USB over Network Client is installed on the virtual machine
5. Server tries to share "SafeNet Inc. HASP key". It's Ok.
6. Client recognizes Number of available connections 1. But icon of "SafeNet..." is absent in the main window of Client.
7. Some another devices are recognized without troubles. For example "Genius FaceCam 300".

The server and the client are trial ones.
