combined device: Workstation PC restart on Vista

Hello,

I'm using USB for Remote Desktop v2.3, Workstation
part installed on Vista 32-bit (Business,6.0.6001 SP1).
On the workstation I have a combined smartcard/fingerprint reader Precise 250 MC (http://www.precisebiometrics.com/?id=2718&cid=2723). In the workstation gui it says "Port_#0001.Hub_#0006 - Precise 250 MC". If I click "Redirect USB device", my computer goes bluescreen with message Multiple_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS.
Any ideas? I can provide some .dmp-file if it is of interest.

If I instead install workstation part on XP SP2 I manage to redirect the device. However I can only access the biometric sensor and not the smart cart reader. Do you have any experience with these kind of combined devices?
Small note: In the workstation redirect window I get a bit different label on my reader in Vista/XP: XP "Precise 250 MC - Shared USB Device - 0000", Vista "Port_#0001.Hub_#0006 - Precise 250 MC"

If I don't redirect the device at all and do a remote session, RDP will automatically redirect the smart card functionality so I can access the smart card reader at the server, but not the biometric sensor.

Follow up:
On Vista I found out that it is enough if I use RDP to redirect the smart card reader. From there I can access the biometric sensor. Here's the fix: http://blogs.msdn.com/alejacma/archive/2007/12/17/scardgetstatuschange-fails-with-scard-e-no-service-error.aspx

Hi Mike,

Thanx for anwering the post.
At the moment we are not using your product but seeing similar problem at customer site running citrix and our reader, i.e. using XP as the remote desktop/server we have problem using both the smart card reader and the biometric sensor in the locally remoted device. Our concern is to understand how the actual redirection of smart card is done. On XP we have our own developed usbccid driver since the MS usbccid.sys was not good enough when it came to SCardControl() calls. If you have any ideás etc to share its warmly welcome.
