Kofax Ascent Capture 7.5?

Has anyone used "USB over Network" to handle the USB hardware license key ("dongle") required by Kofax Ascent Capture 7.5?

We are trying to get the AC 7.5 server running in a VMware ESX Server 3.0 guest OS running Windows 2003 Server, but VMware ESX Server 3.0 doesn't support USB at all.

USB over Network was suggested as a possible solution, by plugging the dongle into a different server box and sharing it with the VMware guest running AC 7.5.

Thanks for any information.

Tim

Hi Tim.
Could you please clarify, what exactly model of hardware license key ("dongle") is required by Kofax Ascent Capture 7.5? There are some models that are not supported by USB over Network currently.

Tim, also it would be great, if you could try the solution on real PCs (I mean not in VMware ESX environment). In any case, I should tell you, that USB over Network supports VMware ESX Server environment, so it should work.

Tim, awaiting your reply.

The Kofax Ascent Capture 7.5 hardware license key is a Sentinel SafeNet SuperPro, according to the markings on it, but I don't know if that is enough information for you.
