USB Webcam support?

hi, I've downloaded evaluation copy of this product to see how well it works with USB webcams ... the device itself seems to be networked ok but when I fire up any client to use the webcam I get a blank screen at best, or a hung system at worst.  Never seen a picture Sad

does USB over Network not support webcams ?

thanks

Unfortunately current USB over Network version doesn't support the operation of isochronous USB devices. Because isochronous devices such as consumer cameras and audio devices require the specific timing coordination.

When data travels across a busy network, data packets can experience variable delays due to network traffic. This 'first come', 'first served' delivery method is problematic for isochronous devices because the data must be delivered within specific time restraints.

We are still working at this problem...

In some case you got a worst experience with the usb web cams.you all should blame the web cams but that's not a full problem just go ahead with the system configurations, and hardware, you persist the problem ,and also the thing that you will fix the problem.

Lara, we are very unpleasantly surprised to know that you are facing difficulties with using our product.

Could you please let us know what is your web cam model?
And what is the problem itself?

I can't believe you have taken Lara's post seriously!

It was so obviously spam, the posting doesn't even make sense (auto-generated?) - and it was only there to add an imbedded spam link (which was edited out by someone - the forum administrator I assume).

But ... seeing as though I'm here again....

2 years ago I was told you were "still working on this problem".  So have you managed to crack it yet ?!  I am still interested in being able to work with a USB webcam over a network.

thanks

Well, it was a display of humour in a certain sense Smiley

We have released heaps of versions since that time.
So web-cams support is undoubtedly better in current version (USB Over Network 3.6).

We would like you to download and try it. It is available by this link
