Any client for Windows 2003?

The version of the USB server is 6.0.6 on Win 2012, but I have a legacy application protected by a dongle that runs only on windows 2003.
In this case, is it possible to run the old USB client? If yes, which version should I choose?

Thank you.

Hi,

The version of the server and client must be the same.
Try to use 5.2.2 release at your own risk.

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, the license I purchased one month ago is only valid for version 6.0 and above. Sad

Hi again,

You wrote "The version of the USB server is 6.0.6 on Win 2012, but I have a legacy application protected by a dongle that runs only on windows 2003" ans "only valid for version 6.0 and above". Let's summarize:
- USB over Network (server, 6.0.6 version) on Win2012
- USB over Network (client, 5.2.2 version) on Win2003
- you are using your license key on USB over Network (server, Win2012) PC
I see no problems.

Thank you very much!
I just tried to connect to a shared device/port from the 5.2.2 client of Windows 2003, but it didn't work.
The client indicate that "Cannot connect this USB device due to server license limitations."

It seems that there is a problem with the license after reinstalling Server, please let me check first, thanks!

Hi again,

It looks like you are trying to connect more devices than allowed by your license key.

Thanks for your help!

I've figured it out because I'm using the activation code directly on the server instead of using License Server.

Hi,

I have no information about your license key.

Yes sure, you can host your key on License Server
https://www.fabulatech.com/license-server-download.html
https://www.fabulatech.com/license-server-help/
or apply it directly through USB over Network (server) GUI/CLI for the local usage:
https://www.fabulatech.com/usb-over-network-server-help/get-full-version.html
https://www.fabulatech.com/usb-over-network-server-help/server-command-line.html

It doesn't matter where you use the key.
"Cannot connect this USB device due to server license limitations" error message means that your license key limit (the number of the allowed usb devices) has been reached.
