PDA syncing via usb over network?

Has anyone accomplished syncing a PDA over the network via MS ActiveSync?

I have a full connection between the usb over network server and client, however activesync isn't recognizing the hardware over USB.

I'd like to plug the PDA into the USB on my local machine, and access it via activesync on a remote machine.

Any ideas? Appreciate the help.

In general it's possible to connect Pocket PC over the network via MS ActiveSync (both v3.8 and v4.1) with help of the USB over Network (USB-Net) product but there is some specificity. Please follow below steps:

- Install USB-Net Server and share Pocket PC plugged into computer
- Install USB-Net Client and add server shared Pocket PC
- "Connect to remote USB device at system startup" option of USB-NET Client is disabled (it's important!)
- Click on "Connect shared USB devise" to connect with remote Pocket PC
- MS ActiveSync connects remote Pocket PC.

Important note! Above connection process works one time ONLY i.e. MS ActiveSync will not work if you will disconnect shared USB device via USB-Net Client and then try to connect it again. In short you will need to connect shared Pocket PC via USB-Net Client each time when computer with installed client is rebooted.

We are trying to resolve this problem in the next version of USB over Network product.

We have examined in detail operation of our USB-Net with Pocket PC + ActiveSync and made some modifications of USB-Net algorithm in the new 2.1.5 version. Now it connects remote Pocket PC via ActiveSync without problem as many time as you need. Client computer restart is not needed now. There is only one little limitation - you can reconnect remote Pocket PC again in 1 minute or later only. This 1 minute timeout is defined by installed Windows Mobile OS (at least for our tested MS Pocket PC 2003 v4.20.0 build 13252).
