No connection

I'm trying to establish connection with other PC and vice versa over Internet. Regardless of what port we enter on both computers (default 33000 or any other), it does not work. We enter correct IP addresses of each other as well.

Locally it works fine - if one enter 127.0.0.1 in Client application. Therefore it is definitely to do smth with Internet connection capability of this software.

We've tried all possible combinations between three different computers with different ISPs. No combination of Server-Client was successful.

Is it smth to do with opened TCP ports? We even manually allowed ports on routers. Also performed ping of each other. Everything works fine except for USB Over Network...

PS. We used identical versions of Server and Client applications. Software seems to work only locally (or inside LAN), if you enter 127.0.0.1 to connect to yourself for example.

What could cause this problem and what are requirements to establish connection over Internet (not LAN)?

Could you please describe how exactly it does not connect over the internet.
Does USB over Network Client show "unreachable" status in its shell?
Additional details would be appreciated.

Exactly, it indicates "unreachable".

I think I have provided all information I could...

The status "unreachable" means that you cannot access the required tcp port (usb over network uses 33000 by default) even though you can ping both machines. You probably have firewall or router that is interfering and block port 33000. Please disable firewall and try to connect USB over Network Server again. It should work.
Moreover the fact that you managed to connect everything over LAN means that the product works.

We thought about closed ports, thank you for clarifying that.

A few more questions.

Should both identical TCP ports be opened on both machines, or only on the one, which is "client-side"?

Most routers close TCP ports by default, also in some cases it is not possible to open them (for user). Is there a way to see which TCP ports are opened/allowed on computer as well as on the router, so that you can use them for USB-Over-Network?

You can do the following:
run->cmd->netstat -a

You'll see all the listening ports.
