Disconnect on RDP

We are testing USB Over Network solution and found three problems:

1. Remote desktop connection from host (sharing server) to remote (client) breaks USB connection. The device is still connected, but no communication (read/write) can be done.

2. When we start/stop sharing devices, it might be required to pull off the dongle and insert again. Otherwise UON server shows a problem (exclamation icon)

3. On system start, most connected devices will have a problem. We have to kill usbserver.exe process (closing the program does not close the process), then stop USB Over Network service, unplug all devices, wait 2-3 minutes then start the service. Then plug devices back and some of them will work, other will have a problem.

Host: Server 2008 x64 Hyper-V
Clients: Vista x86, XP (virtual machines)
USB devices: Windows Mobile, CE6, Bluetooth dongle, Card Reader

Could you please describe this issue more detailed? As far as I understand you made a connection from Client to Server (using the Server IP). However when you initialized RDP connection from Server machine to Client machine, the device stopped read/write data. Am I right?

We are known about this issue. We are working now to resolve it. You can try 'auto-sharing' option as a temporary solution.

Please try 'auto-sharing option'. Maybe it will partially resolve this certain issue.

Thanks.

Regarding the first issue, we are trying to share USB device with virtual machine on Hyper-V host. We are able to share the device and using from within the virtual machine. But as we establish RDP connection to that machine (from the host), the connected USB device still exists, but not accessible from the virtual machine until we disconnect RDP session.

Regarding the third issue, we are using auto-sharing option. This does not help for the problem. The device will be shown with exclamation mark until we stop and start the service. Also, we have another problem that some devices are not listed at all until we reboot. We are testing USB Over RDP and we have the same problem as well (on the workstation, of course)

I would like to ask you to make one little test:

1. insert your device into the Host PC;
2. make RDP connection to the Host PC from another PC;
3. a) try to work with the device in RDP session
    b) try to work with the device locally (on Host) while RDP connection is established.

Let me know the result. Thanks in advance.

Well, your issue is not a common one and we are very interested in its resolving. I think it would be better if I contact you by e-mail.

Thanks.
