iPhone to iTunes connection issue

Hi,
 
I am trying the eval version for the folowing purpose:
 
1. I have a Windows 2003 installation as VM on ESX VMWare. ESX server does not have USB ports
2. iTunes is installed on that Windows 2003 machine
3. I have installed a USB-over-Network client on the Windows 2003 server and USB-over-Network Server on another XP workstation which has USB ports available.  
 
USB port connection is established but keeps disconnecting. It may even stay on long enough for the iPhone section to appear in iTunes, but it disconnects every few minutes.
 
Are there any hints to make such configuration work?
