USB-dongle, SafeNet iKey 2032

Hi

I have problems using a SafeNet iKey 2032 (also known as Rainbow iKey 2032) with USB over Network version 3.17. I have installed drivers that came with the iKey.

When starting the server part the iKey is visible but with a yellow exclamation mark and the text "iKey 2032 - Rainbow iKey 2032...Problem...". Right clicking on it I can chose "Stop Sharing" and "Properties" but clicking "Stop Sharing" does nothing.

And it does not turn up on the client. Is there some way to see what the problem is?

Regards

Just unplug and then plug the device again. It should be shared then.

Yellow point means that device cannot be shared because it's occupied by system.

If does not help:
1) please unplug device,
2) reboot
3) remove sharing for device if required
4) Choose "Auto-share USB devices" in the program options
5) Plug USB device

Awaiting your reply.

Hi

Fastest support ever! :)

Activated Auto-share and replugged it, then it showed up on the client where I could connect it and it's driver was installed. That was really good.

Though it does not work fully jet. There is a small program that communicates with the iKey on the client and it does not recognize that it is plugged in. I'm now trying to reinstall the driver and software to see if it will work better.

I'll get back to you.

I have now reinstalled the driver and the software with no change :/

The software is called Borderless Security and works as a bridge between the iKey and a encryption program called ProtectFile. So there must be some part of the emulation that does not work. Maybe it's a security feature of the iKey.

Though, it works just fine with Remote Desktop when enabling Locale Resources, Smart Card. And it also works with VMWare Server Console when adding USB-hardware to the guest system.

I would have used one of these functions if it wasn't for the absurd server setup. The end user with the iKey will connect to one server with Remote Desktop and from there connect to another server with VMWare Server Console. ><

I am still battling over this one... I will try to do the auto-share all feature...

Sharing from a Windows 2008 R2 Server Host to a Windows 2003 VM Guest.
