You can't SHARE physical port com1 to virtual com4.
You can SPLIT only.
2) Let me know the following:
- what version of SPS do you use?
- what OS you are using (name and bit rate)?
- do you use SPLIT feature of SPS?
- what app you are using to open com4 virtual port?
3) try to open physical port com1 first, if everything is ok then split it to com4 and try to open with help of any terminal app (putty for example).

Serial Port (COM1)
Virtual Port (COM4)

- we developed an .NET App to open Virtual Port (COM4) and get the data from COM1
note: COM1 is connected to a serial printer

We tried with PuTTY and it doesn't working
