Title: COM port Serial Redirect Post by ltaquet on May 4th, 2021, 5:35pm Hello, I am using the Serial Port Redirector to redirect a Server Virtual Port into a COM to communicate with a device. It appears that I have to delete and re-add the port every time I start the device for it to connect. Is there a way to avoid this? I have also noticed that at times my command prompt says a connection has been established over the port that the Serial Port Redirector is listening, but the GUI does not register the connection and it does not appear to be redirected to the COM. To reiterate, I am able to successfully redirect most of the time, but long term I am using the redirector for a project that requires I be troubleshooting for as little time as possible. |

Title: Re: COM port Serial Redirect Post by Sergey_Jarovski on May 5th, 2021, 8:16am Hi, 1) What version of SPR do you use? 2) Send your shareit reference number or license key to support@fabulatech.com 3) What do you mean by "to redirect a Server Virtual Port into a COM to communicate with a device"? With help of SPR you can redirect a physical server port (https://www.fabulatech.com/serial-port-redirector-help/creating-physical-server-port.html) or Fabulatech virtual server port (https://www.fabulatech.com/serial-port-redirector-help/creating-server-port.html) to the remote side. The only available port for creation on the remote side (another instance of SPR) is FabulaTech client virtual port (https://www.fabulatech.com/serial-port-redirector-help/creating-serial-port.html). 4) "but the GUI does not register the connection". Just close and open SPR GUI again. 3) Regarding "I start the device for it to connect". It looks like you are using a serial device server (not SPR) on the remote side. Look at this help manual ("Connection Settings" section) for help: https://www.fabulatech.com/serial-port-redirector-help/configuring-server-port.html |
