Title: serial console over USB on linux?
Post by reapur on Feb 9th, 2010, 8:28am
Hi,
Hopefully someone will know if there is a product to do this.

I have a miniPC running Slax linux. I does NOT have RS-232 but has USB ports.
My laptop has USB port only as well.

I want to connect to the minipc from my laptop via USB, using putty or some other TERM emulator. This way I can have console access of some sort to configure the network on this miniPC.

Is this possible even?

Thanks

Unfortunately we do not have any solution to do what you want.

Do you know of any solution out in the wild that may work?

Cheers

Sorry, there is nothing particular we can tell you on this matter. It seems there is no standard way to do it.
