USB over Network
Most devices with USB interface are supported. However, if your specific device doesn’t get shared and connected properly, you might want to check if the correct drivers are installed on the client side. Sometimes we need to do remote debugging to adjust our software to work with this particular type of device. Contact us for details.
Supported operating systems are listed on the product download page.
These two products use the same USB redirection technologies but are designed for different purposes. USB over Network can share devices over local network or the Internet using TCP/IP protocol, and USB for Remote Desktop is designed exclusively for remote desktop environments, it uses virtual channels of the RDP and ICA (Citrix) protocols. However USB over Network can also be used to share USB devices with remote terminal servers.

After making sure it is our software that’s causing the BSOD, please do the following:
1) Go to the System Properties ("Windows + Break" buttons on the keyboard)
2) Open "Advanced" tab
3) In the "Startup and Recovery" section press "Settings" button.
4) Here you can see "Write debugging information" section. Choose "Kernel memory dump" and remember the path to the file - MEMORY.DMP
By default it's "%SystemRoot%MEMORY.DMP"
5) Reproduce BSOD once again
6) Go to the windows root folder and find that file: "Windows/MEMORY.DMP"
7) Zip this file and send it to support@fabulatech.com.
8) Also please send us your sysinfo. To get it you need to do the following:
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information File -> Save
Most probably you’re getting a BSOD, but your PC is not configured to show it. Please follow the instructions above to send us the kernel memory dump file.
Yes. USB over Network Server allows sharing USB Ports making all the devices plugged into them available for remote computers with USB over Network Client installed.
To share a USB port, plug a USB device into it and click Share Port button.
Enabling "Auto-connect all available USB devices from this server" option cause the program to automatically connect all available USB devices from the server.
Select a server, click Server Properties button and enable the option.
You need to combine the port sharing in USB over Network Server with the option ‘auto-connect the device when it’s available’ in USB over Network Client.
You can share certain ports (e.g. USB ports at front panel). Thus all the devices plugged into them will be shared, and all the devices plugged into rear ports will stay accessible at the Server-side computer.
Most probably these devices was shared and are no longer accessible at this computer. If possible, please use a PS/2 keyboard (if your USB keyboard is blocked) and mouse in order stop sharing of these devices.
Yes. This is one of the most common applications of our software.
No. Our software is designed to provide exclusive access to shared devices. In most cases simultaneous connection of multiple clients is impossible in terms of hardware, not software.
We are working on developing such a version, at this point it is still beta. If you would like to participate in beta testing, please let us know by writing to http://www.fabulatech.com/usb-over-network-linux-client-request.html or entering our live chat.
Yes, we have a special version for Igel thin clients.

This issue affects earlier versions of USB over Network. It's recommended to update to the latest version where the problem is fixed.

Please check if the device works correctly without USB over Network on the machine that you are going to share it with and if correct drivers are installed. Sometimes we need to do remote debugging to modify our software to work with this particular type of device. Contact us for details.
When the connection between Server and Client is broken you can see messages like this in the USB over Network Client:
-
"State: offline";
-
"Connection status: host unreachable";
-
"Waiting for device";
-
"Device will be connected when the remote server becomes visible".
There may be various reasons of this. First, check if two PC’s are accessible from each other. If there’s a router, please make sure that the port forwarding is configured correctly. Also, make sure your firewalls (both software and hardware), antiviruses or any other software is not blocking the connection. Finally, make sure the versions of the Client and the Server are the same.
